Our selection of Château Prieuré-Lichine : The Château shows, as many French vineyards, the ecclesiastical presence in the vineyard. The origins of the castle date back to the sixteenth century, when the Benedictine from the Abbey of Vertheuil have created the vineyard of Prieuré. The vineyard was mainly cultivated, at the time, for wine’s mess. Thereafter, Alexis Lichine, author of the famous "World Encyclopedia of Wine" bought the area in 1951. (...)
