Comtes Lafon
The history of Domaine des Comtes Lafon began in the South-West of France, in 1864, with the birth of Jules Lafon. Following his brilliant studies, he integrated the Administration and he was nominating as an inspector in Dijon in 1887. His wedding with Marie Boch, daughter of a negociant-owner of Meursault, in 1887, allowed him to integrate parcels of Monthélie, “Clos des Chênes” or “Clos de la Barre” to his own property. He spent more and more time to the wine and soil to finally leave all his other activities in 1931. After his premature death in 1940, his sons, Pierre and Henri, were not very interested in the Domaine. Anyway, René Lafon, son of Pierre, decided to oppose himself to the sale of the domaine and took it back in 1956. Today, the Domaine des Comtes Lafon is bottling itself all its production and is lead by Dominique Lafon, son of René Lafon. Besides the Bochs’ heritage, the Domaine has also parcels on the appellations “Montrachet”, “Meursault La Goutte d’Or”, “Meursault les Perrières” or “Meursault les Charmes”. The Domaine des Comtes Lafon has today in international renowned, acquired thanks to its white and red wines, unique in their style.
