Jean Grivot

Originally coming from the Jura, the Grivot family moved in Burgundy at the end of the 18th century where she exploited vineyards on different villages. Joseph, Gaston, Jean and finally Etienne took part into the development of the domaine as it is today. The Domaine Grivot stretches on more than 15 hectares and on over 15 different appellations among the most famous of Burgundy: Richebourg (0,3 hectares), Clos de Vougeot (1,8 hectares), Echézeaux and Vosne-Romanée. Each member of the Grivot family permitted to the Domaine to gain an international recognition. The vines, with an average age of 40 years and their important density, contribute to the weak yields that produce intense wines. The wines of the Domaine Jean Grivot, and in particular the Grands Crus, are interesting to be tasted whatever their age. Young and still on the fruit or matures and stout, they will reveal you every time a different facet.
